Custom paintwork at Route 2 Bikes

Exciting news!

Exciting things are happening at Route 2 Bikes! We're currently working behind the scenes to introduce a professional custom bike painting and refinishing service, giving customers the opportunity to transform their bikes with unique colours and high-quality finishes.

We're taking the time to build our paint shop properly and ensure that every aspect of the service meets the high standards our customers expect. While it's taking a little longer than anticipated to get everything up and running, we're making great progress and can't wait to share it with you.

We'll be posting updates as the project develops, so keep an eye on our website and social media for the latest news.

In the meantime, take a look at some of the paintwork and restoration projects we've already completed. If you have an idea for a custom finish or would like to discuss a future project, please don't hesitate to get in touch—we're always happy to chat and answer any questions.

Canyon Ultimate

Finished in Chromacoat Dragonfly with custom logos and a metalic aqua fade

Specialized Allez

The first version

This is the first version of this bike showcasing 2 tone paintwork of orange over blue. Although we were happy with how it turned out, it didn't have the wow factor we pictured. Back to the drawing board for this one.

Specialized Allez V2

The second iteration.

This is the second version of the above bike and what a difference a day makes!

We could not be more pleased with how this turned out with a much more elegant colour choice and custom logos finished in copper leaf.

The colour is much more subtle but when the sun catches it, the colours shift and pop like you wouldn't believe.

Other projects

Below are some of the many projects we have completed in the shop, many we have not logged, but the ones we have will be forever cemented in our gallery for years to come

Shop Butcher Bike from rags to riches

This was a labour of love, turning our old and beaten Buthcher Bike and turning it into something to be proud of. We stripped it down to the bare frame and meticulously, cleaned, painted and rebuilt it keeping as many of the original parts as possible.

Sadly I didn't think to take many photos before or during the rebuild to log the progress but the before and after pictures show the work that went into it!

I personally have since completed the 60 mile Nello charity bike ride on it raising just over £600 for the Force Cancer charity.

Dawes Countryman

Our first project

This was the first shop project whereby I bought an old Dawes Countryman frameset and wanted to revive it in a way to modernise it but also retian a retro look. I have since lost the before and during photos I took but I think the finished product came out really well.
